The Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled
"The basic need of every person is to feel wanted and needed."
Who We Are
The Macoupin Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
The goal of MCDD is to meet the basic need for adults with disabilities living in Macoupin and surrounding counties. We serve individuals with developmental disabilities who are 18 years of age and older to provide them with continued education catered to their individual abilities, provide them with important social and life skills, social interaction, and to engendering a sense of belonging, purpose and self worth.
What We Do
The MCDD provides a day learning center from 9am to 3pm, including transportation service to and from the Center, providing guardians a unique place for their loved ones to go while they work or accomplish other personal tasks. Though our budget only allows us to assist a limited number of individuals at the Center, we also offer programs to assist others throughout Illinois, such as our Camp Goodtimes and Mini Olympics. We hope to continue to provide these services and more to these special people who have become our extended family.
If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more about becoming a student at MCDD, feel free to contact us or stop by for a visit. We would love to give you a tour of our facility and introduce you to the life of a student here.
